In 1994, during my freshman year of college, I was introduced to premier designer brands like Prada, Gucci, and Valentino by a friend from Japan. I was immediately captivated by the craftsmanship, detail, and design. I began to understand why these pieces commanded such high prices—because they earned it.

 

After graduating in 1999, I purchased my first Prada item. That moment marked the beginning of a lasting relationship with high-end fashion.

 

I’ve always believed that loving a brand is not the same as loving a label. To me, it’s not about logos—it’s about quality. I still own pieces from the late ’90s that look brand new today. With proper care, true designer fashion doesn’t fade—it endures.

 

During the COVID-19 lockdown, I decided to clean out my closet and list some of my designer pieces on eBay and Poshmark. To my surprise, they sold quickly. It became clear there was a real demand for authentic designer clothing at fair prices. That realization became the foundation for what is now Designer Clothing Shop.
